Having planned three weddings ourselves, Laura and I understand the challenges and stresses that face a bride when planning a wedding and want to make the process easier for you. When looking for a photographer, many brides turn to websites like “The Knot” to seek advice. These sites have lists of questions they recommend asking photographers. I have compiled my own list of questions as well as responses to these questions to aid you in the decision process.

First Glance

1. Do you travel outside of New England?
Absolutely. Whether your wedding takes place in the minus 40 degree winters of Winnipeg, Canada, or the blistering heat of the equator, we are happy to capture your special day.

2. Who will be sent to photograph my wedding?
Laura and I will personally be photographing your wedding. We both act as each other's assistant. We use additional assistants as requested.

3. How many images do you take?
We do not limit the amount of images taken at any event. The amount of images you end up with will depend on the number of hours we are photographing your event and the package you decide on. For a typical 8 hour wedding, you will receive between 800 and 1200 color corrected images.

4. What equipment do you use?
We use the latest professional digital cameras and lenses from Canon including L-series lenses. All of our external flash units are high-end studio quality lights from Profoto.

5. Do you edit or otherwise clean up the images?
Yes. To satisfy your needs and to ensure the highest possible standards, all images are color corrected. Additional editing such as blemish and background removal are available for a fee.

6. Can we get a CD of the digital files?
In addition to other products, all of our wedding packages include a CD of High-Resolution Digital Negatives.

7. How do we secure a wedding date?
In order to secure our services for your wedding, we must receive a non-refundable retainer payment of $500.

Engagement Questions

1. What should I expect on my engagement session?
Plan to spend between 45 and 90 minutes for your engagement session.  This includes walking between locations, shooting, changing outfits, etc...  Come prepared to be photographed as we will start shooting almost immediately.

2. Where will the engagement session take place?
We are happy to photograph you and your loved one anywhere you would like.

3. How should my fiancee and I be dressed?
This is entirely up to you and your own personal style.  Some couples like to match their outfits while others take a more casual approach.  We recommend slacks and a dress shirt for men and a dress or skirt for the women.  Be sure to consider the weather, time of day, and location when dressing.

4. Can I use photos from the engagement for thank you notes, save the dates, etc?
Absolutely.  We love it when our clients share their images with family and friends.

5. Can I use photos on my wedding website?
Yes.  We offer a special digital image package designed specifically for this purpose.

Wedding Questions

1. How do we plan for our wedding day?
Once you have secured your wedding date, you will receive a document complete with package pricing, album choices, and a questionnaire regarding your wedding day. This questionnaire is meant to help you select, plan and coordinate when and where you would like to have photos taken. If you work with a wedding planner, we will contact them to coordinate and plan all activities. If you have any questions, please contact us and we will provide guidance as needed. Remember that our job is to minimize the stress of your wedding day.

2. Do you provide printed or digital proofs?
An online proofing gallery is included with all wedding packages.  Printed proofs are available for an additional fee.

3. When will my images be available for viewing?
In most cases, a preview of images will be available within 1-2 weeks.  All color corrected wedding images are typically available for viewing within 2-3 weeks of your wedding.

4. How can I find my wedding images online?
To access your wedding images online, please visit the custom website we have provided to you or enter the Bride's last name on our Client Access page.
